HALLOWEEN FLOWERS!
Hi everyone! I know most people don’t think of Halloween as a floral holiday, but boy, are they missing out. A spooky centerpiece is a perfect décor to tie your Halloween party together! Here is a simple step by step arrangement I’ve put together combining items from the dollar store as well as some fresh cut flowers.
WHAT YOU NEED: Silk flowers in black and purple with eyeball inserts, purple glitter pumpkins, mini orange pumpkins, green glitter spiders and spiderwebs
NOT PICTURED: A vase, your choice of fresh cut flowers, seasonal ribbon, greenery, wire or something similar to attach stemless pieces too.
Step 1
The vessel I decided to use as the base is a small round globe vase, but if you can use almost any vase for this project. I started off by adding the orange mini pumpkins into the bottom of the vase, where they can be on display and ensure that the color and fun is present in all aspects of the arrangement.
Step 2
The next step is to tape the top of the vase in a grid pattern, using clear thin tape, and add water. This creates an armature to hold the greenery and flowers in place.
Step 3
Using some small bits of greenery, place them evenly around the vase to create a round covering over the top of the tape. This is a good time to pull out the fresh cuts you will be adding as well! I used an orange gerbera daisy and 2 circus roses, but you can use whatever you like!
Step 4
Now that you have your fresh cuts placed, it’s time to prep all the fun add-ins! Most of what I found at the dollar store is already wired and can be easily separated into individual pieces. Some, like the pumpkins, need a little more help. They are foam, and I was able to easily add a “stem” by inserting a small piece of wood into the base.
Step 5
Alright, now you are all set to assemble the pieces you’ve chosen! I decided to go with the following:
Step 6
Now that there are some fun spiders, eyeballs, and cute silk roses, it’s time for the finishing touch, a bow!
Step 7
If you are unfamiliar with how to make a bow, the simplest way to create loops from side to side while pinching in the middle. Wrap a piece of wire around the middle, and twist. Your end result should look something like this:
